5 Regional Brands Doing Their Bit For The Planet

These local heroes are showing us how it’s done. (Sustainably, of course…)

[1]

Bedouin

Dubai designer Andraya Farrag’s modern femininity is just as pretty on the inside, partnering with The Magic Drive to donate past collections to youth in crisis across Africa, helping build a more sustainable future.

[2]

Kage

A step in the right direction, fellow Dubai-based brand Kage will be introducing sustainable fabrics into its SS20 collection, dropping into stores in February. Think recycled materials using organic cotton.

[3]

Lea The Label

Lea Daaboul is not only producing some of the slickest, chicest swimwear around, but she’s doing it all with heart. Specifically, by using ECONYL® – fabrics constructed from consumer waste such as fishing nets and industrial plastic.

[4]

Farah Wali

Egypt-born Farah Wali’s work is underpinned by all things green, using sustainable ink and recycled fabrics to create her dramatic, architectural pieces. It’s little wonder she won Fashion Star Arabia last year.

[5]

Reemami

Designer Reema Al Banna not only sources organic, recycled fabrics whenever possible, but also repurposes her fabric leftovers to create headbands and other pieces to ensure zero waste. Just one of the reasons we love her.
