How This Regional Trunk Show By Female Designers Is Championing Sustainability
The Magic Circle will be showcased in Al Hamra Mall, Kuwait, on 28 and 29 November
Introducing The Magic Circle: an all-female, globetrotting trunk show, founded by Najeeba Hayat from Kuwait-based Liudmila Footwear, Nafsika and Stephanie Skourti from Jordan-based label Nafsika Skourti and Beatrice Bongiasca from the eponymous Milan-based jewellery line.
The four women have been producing stunning collections under their own labels for over six years and recently came together to create a community of like-minded brands who support and champion one another, through the concept of The Magic Circle.
The concept manifests itself as a kind of rebellion against the culture of hype fashion – a culture that is especially prevalent on social media platforms like Instagram. In an age dominated by consumer waste and environmental crises, The Magic Circle embodies the vision that shoppers should only buy new items if they will eventually pass them on.
To introduce new clients to this vision and into their world, The Magic Circle leverages each other’s networks, shares resources and constantly cross-promotes one another to create stunning three-day immersive shopping shows, inviting the public to escape into their fashion fantasies.
The theme of this year’s trunk show, A Magic Forest, will see the creation of a magical holiday forest, complete with non-toxic snow, replantable trees that will be donated after the event and recyclable, biodegradable flooring. The show will be open to all members of the public at the Al Hamra Shopping Center in Kuwait City on 28 and 29 November 2019, from 10am to 10pm.
We’ll be watching this space.
