Breakdancing at The Olympics: Team Morocco is Set To Dominate
Morocco to make a grand debut at the first-ever Olympic Breakdancing competition
Olympic Breakdancing (or breaking, as it’s often called) is set to make its debut tonight at the Paris 2024 games with dancers (a.k.a. breakers) from all over the world set to perform, as they battle it out for a gold medal. While the style of dance originated in New York City in the late 1960s and 1970s, this is the first time the sport has been organised by the games – and two atheletes from the region are set to make history as they represent their country in the inaugural battles.
Team Morocco’s B-Girl Elmamouny (born Fatima Zahra El Mamouny) will be performing in the Women’s B-Girls Pre-Qualifier Battle, while Billy The One will battle it out tomorrow in the Men’s division.
