As the month draws to a close, we look back at the stunning interior and furnishings of the five-day House of Bazaar 2017 (10-14 October) presented by Mall of the Emirates as part of World of Fashion 2017 to give you some interior décor inspiration for the season. Styled by Lauren Haslam, the House was vibrant in form and flora, bold and boisterous in design, and combined a colourful contemporary aesthetic with dashes of vintage charm. In case you couldn't stop by, here's your very own guided tour with a special look at the items that dressed the House this year.
Step inside the ethereal Wellness Room, all bright and airy and lusciously set against House of Hackney’s Palmeral Wallpaper in off white and azure tones that lent a tropical feel to the space, a true joie de vivre. Fragrant with Forever Rose blooms and Diptyque candles, the room was decorated in beaming shades of blue and green with dashes of gold and pink. Frequented by guests who relished scrumptiously healthy cookies and detox drinks shared by Bazaar deputy editor Emily Baxter and food editor Dalia Dogmoch Soubra. For a little delicious decadence, Ladurée macarons were stacked in jars.

The customised pink and gold counter and Siematic countertop paired with Crate & Barrel stools set the tone for the room meant to evoke a sense of calm and ease. On the countertop, a delicious mix of serveware and decoratives, from The One gold pineapple and palm tree pieces to trays, vases and picture frame by Tanagra, to a sumptuous cake stand by Crate & Barrel.
To the right of the room was a sassy brass floor lamp by The Odd Piece and a classic metal, stone and wood side-table by ID Design. And to the left, a classic wooden showcase by Crate & Barrel, housing a range of pots, bowls and cutlery, available at Tanagra and The One. Rounding off the room’s feisty appeal was a fierce ceramic leopard sculpture by The Odd Piece, between a pair of comfortable The Odd Piece velvet clam chairs.

The idea was to create an unfussy that adds depth and exudes a sense of healing, offering respite to guests from the daily bustle. This visual sanctuary can be recreated in your home, especially if you’re looking to refurnish your eat-in kitchen into one with more storage, less fuss.
Ah, how we miss the sartorial treasure chest that was The Closet in House of Bazaar, a woman’s fashion dream come true. Rosemin Manji and Bazaar’s fashion editor Gemma Deeks walked guests through the latest Autumn/Winter 2017 trends in apparel and accessories after their rejuvenation session in The Wellness Room.
A gold brass tree by The Odd Piece hanging amid the lushly green wallpaper by Designers Guild at Maison D’art that dressed the walls. A bonanza of luxury brands rested tidily in the closet and there were evident nods to textured prints, ruffled sleeves, embroidery and of course, some sparkle. On view were the latest pieces avaialble at Harvey Nichols and Etoile from brands such as Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Aquazzura, Dior, Oscar de la Renta, Fendi, Dolce & Gabbana, all available at Mall of the Emirates.

Bright and spacious, the area stirred an unassuming feel as they made themselves comfortable on the plush olive green velvet sofa by Crate & Barrel and the cushions by ID Design and The One. To enhance the space’s classy appeal, there were Galerie Nationale vintage chairs.
Set against the green and grey upholstery was the pale yellow, grey and off white rug by The Odd Piece. We could’ve spent the whole day lounging there, whetting our fashion appetite while going through the closet and leafing through the October issue of Harper’s Bazaar Arabia with our fabulous cover star Bella Hadid.
Next, Parisian perfection that was the Boudoir, all dazzling with Dior Beauty make-up and tutorials with sensational giveaways to our guests’ delight. Dior make-up artists Emmanuelle and Ralph showcased the latest trends, even to our celebrity guests Shiva Safai and Carla DiBello.

In warm autumn tones, all the furnishings and pieces perfectly meshed together to create a space both homey and regal: the coffee table and cushions by ID Design, Crate & Barrel side tables, rug, full length mirror and sofa, and The One wall mirror and lamps, among others. You can recreate your living room by opting for these sumptuous pieces for that added classy charm to our home this winter.
The Petite Suite
Fun and fabulous, the space was all about the latest in microfashion and furnishings perfect for your child’s play area. This was where Harper’s Bazaar Arabia Junior editor Maysa Rawi walked mummies and daddies through clothes and accessories their children would love to adorn. With spectacularly fun pieces such as glass stars, a ceramic panda, rocking horses, glass bunny and bear, and a fabulous jewel encrusted giraffe, all available at Tanagra.

The space brimmed with guests throughout the event, who dined on delicious canapés, macarons and ice cream by Ladurée, attending our daily talks with key social media influencers, as they took in views of the event while seated on the timelessly elegant chairs by Innovative Hiring in the verdant House of Bazaar garden.
