A new platform titled Abu Dhabi Story has just popped up on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. These new social media handles, created by the government, aim to tell the authentic stories of Abu Dhabi citizens and residents through films and photos.
The Abu Dhabi Government Media Office has launched this initiative to develop a growth of community spirit, and to share "untold stories waiting to be retold."
These platforms will give viewers around the world a glimpse into the multicultural community that is Abu Dhabi. From tourist attractions and traditional culture, to the young mind's of the city, and their exciting new developments.
The stories will depict the people of Abu Dhabi pushing boundaries in innovative ways, and those that are featured will be sharing their favourite places or aspects of the city. This will highlight the diversity and inclusion that can be found amongst the capital's community.
According to Her Excellency Maryam Eid Al Mheiri, the Director General of the ADGMO, "the channel will amplify authentic stories and share inspirational untold stories of people, places and communities of Abu Dhabi. Speaking to who we are, what we believe, and where we are going. Stories that celebrate the people, personalities and hidden gems of our emirate."
Individuals that have already been featured on the platform include Dorian Rogers, an educator who started a spoken-word poerty night in Abu Dhabi, and Ahmed Al Blooshi, an employee at the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
We can't wait to see who else will have their social media debut on these new platforms...
