It’s so easy to get swept up in the hustle and bustle of city life that you forget the serenity of Old Dubai is just a 20 minute cab ride away. And any Friday brunches worth their salt (food pun always intended) thrive of the UAE’s winter weather conditions.
Case in point? Skafos. The al fresco eatery situated in Al Seef, serving us delicious Greek, Italian and Spanish dishes.
The menu is bursting with Mediterranean produce, including gambas al ajillo, burrata, grilled fish and tenderloin, bifteki, moussaka and the biggest live cooking station of paella we ever did see.
There is a live Paella cooking station
Skafos, Zabeel House Al Seef
The dessert options are so vast they even have their own room. It’s as if you’ve walked into a scene from Charlie and Chocolate Factory, with sweets, pastries, cotton candy, chocolates, homemade ice cream and freshly made churros at every turn.
Heritage lovers can enjoy the sight of Dubai Creek whilst wiling away the hours on Skafos’ stunning terrace. In fact, it’s so peaceful down this end of town that the restaurant–in both its cuisine and its overall vibes–have mastered the art of making us feel like we're on holiday.
Bazaar’s top tip? Post-brunch, make your way to the top floor of Zabeel House Al Seef’s SOL Sky Bar to watch the sunset over the iconic Dubai skyline.
