Amal Clooney was spotted in New York yesterday to attend a meeting with the United Nations Security Council meeting at the U.N. Headquarters. The human rights lawyer was in attendance to discuss the issue of sexual violence and women’s rights during conflict.

Lebanese-British Clooney was defending Nadia Murad, a survivor of human trafficking, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate in 2018. Murad now advocates on behalf of other female victims, and works closely with Clooney to save women’s lives.

For the meeting at the U.N. Headquarters, the mother-of-twins wore a smart black dress button-down dress with short sleeves. She accessorized the look with nude heeled pumped, a black leather tote and a pair of sunglasses.

Clooney was recently given a role working with the U.K. Foreign Office, where she was appointed as Special Envoy on Media Freedom to Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt. Clooney will advise on matters regarding media freedom, in an attempt to combat the issue of journalists being murdered and imprisoned in an affront to free speech.
