Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are well into their Africa tour and today, Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor finally made an appearance. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex brought their four-month old baby to Cape Town’s Old Granary building, where they were greeted by the archbishop and his daughter Thandeka.

“Arch meets Archie!” the Sussex Royal Instagram account wrote. “This morning The Duke and Duchess were honoured to introduce their son Archie, to Archbishop, Desmond Tutu and his daughter, Thandeka.”

“The Archbishop, a globally respected figure in anti-apartheid movement, is one of the world’s great champions of equality, and has spent his life tirelessly battling injustice.”

“Their Royal Highnesses have joined The Archbishop and Thandeka to learn more about the work of The Tutu and Leah Legacy Foundation, and see first-hand how they are focussing on global awareness of the critical issues affecting the world.”

Archie left with a basket of gifts from Tutu and Thandeka, including a book of bible stories and the children’s book Desmond and the Very Mean Word, both written by the archbishop, according to Harper’s Bazaar US.

Yesterday, the Britsh royals visited Auwal Mosque in Cape Town’s Bo Kaap neighbourhood. The Duchess was spotted wearing a stylish but demure full-length khaki green dress with simple flats as a sign of respect for the occasion, and both removed their shoes before entering in adherence with the mosque’s requirements.
