4 Runway Beauty Trends We’ll Be Copying This Festive Season
With event season in full swing and the festive period fast approaching, we’re drawing on the major beauty inspo from September’s catwalks
With event season in full swing, and the festive season creeping ever closer, we’ve rounded up the best haute new beauty looks from the S/S20 catwalks. Sometimes extra, often a tad boujie but always totally fabulous, there’s something for every face this winter… ‘Tis the season, after all.

Why leave all the adornments for the tree? Upgrade an LBD by adding sparkly face crystals and let your beauty become the party centre piece. Focusing on just one eye will give a high fashion, asymmetric effect without venturing into full on Glastonbury mode. Not feeling quite so bold? Take a page out of the Dries Van Noten beauty book and enhance a barely-there face by placing considered studs in the corner of your inner eye.

One of the more accessible go-to party looks is a festive essential: the glittery lid. We’re majorly on board for Marc Jacob’s iridescent lilac lids, which sweeps from brow right down to under the eye. More is more at this time of year, so don’t be shy of experimenting with a mix of pigments and a bold shape. Do, however, be wary of looking too much like the spare christmas tree tinsel by avoiding red tones.
THE PAINTERLY PALETTE

Use a cream-based shadow to build up picture perfect lids. Whether you choose to keep it angular and graphic a la Ferragamo or blend it in for a softer approach like the romantic beauty looks at Paula Knorr, make sure you’re not shy with colour. Use a kaleidoscopic range to compliment you festive ensemble – we adore the Ombre Premiere Longwear cream shadows by Chanel Beauty for this particular trend.
THE EXAGGERATED EYELASH

…And no, we’re not talking about the gaudy oversized lashes made popular by Ibizan nightclubs. Wearing exaggerated eyelashes is a sure-fire way to have you looking like a 60’s dream in no time. No time for the distress of drying lash glue and lopsided lashes? Draw on your bottom lash line with Charlotte Tilbury’s “The Feline Flick” liquid eyeliner for a look Twiggy would commend you on.
