Nestled within the lush grounds of Dubai’s Four Seasons Jumeirah Resort lies a brand new plant-based dining concept: Folia. Folia, meaning “from the leaves” features a spectacular menu consisting solely of wholesome, plant-based starters, entrees and desserts which are as delicious as they are nutritious.
Raw Pizza Margherita
We picked an idyllic Saturday afternoon to try out the concept for lunch and ended up spending our entire afternoon lounging there. The eatery is situated within a secluded garden oasis in the heart of the luxurious resort. The tables are surrounding by a myriad of shady trees, creating the perfect setting for the nourishing, easy-dining al fresco experience.

We started out with freshly blended juices that left us instantly revitalised, followed by a deliciously tart Green Gazpacho and the Dukka Avocado Salad which instantly made it to the top of our all-time favourite salads list. For mains we opted for the unexpectedly healthy Raw Pizza Margherita and remarkably tasty Roasted Caulifower Tacos followed by the Coconut Cream Pie and Banana Split for dessert.

The portions are small but pack a powerful flavorful punch. The curated menu was especially developed by celebrated Executive Chef Matthew Kenney and it most definitely shows. The presentation is impeccable, the flavours striking the perfect balance between comforting and surprising. Come in the late afternoon and be sure to stay for sunset to hear the bird song that is guaranteed to make you forget you are, in fact, still in a desert. A dining experience for the mind, body and soul – the perfect way to close out any day.
