This New Food App Lets You Dine Ethically For Less

As if we needed another excuse to order takeout…

What if you could do your part to save the environment by eating out? Foodkarma, a new food-rescue app, lets you do just that. By partnering with restuarants, cafes, and other culinary outlets to distribute surplus food, FoodKarma lets the user find the cuisine of their choice at a discount. The app comes with the option to choose between delivery, dine-in, or pick-up.

The brain behind this simple but effective idea is CEO Eugenie Dronneau, who was inspired by her long stint in the F&B industry to find a solution for food wastage. Based on the philosophy that good deeds will bring good things to you, her goal is to “give eco-mindful consumers a way to rescue food, while enabling businesses in the region to become more sustainability-driven by cutting down on the amount of perfectly good food they throw away.”

With sustainability and ethical dining at the forefront of everyone’s minds, this seems like an app to keep an eye on. After all, who wouldn’t want to save the planet by getting takeaway?
